Also with the umbrella of typography, here is an Artist statement about a favorite artist of mine, Rebecca Sugar.
They created one of my favorite shows of all the time, Steven Universe. Which was not only sucessful in its own right. But was praised for its LGBTQ+ representation especially for a children’s cartoon. ( which is important because they came out as Non-Binary.
Before creating Steven Universe, they also worked on Adventure Time as a story boarder and song writer. They Co-Story Boarded the Adventure Time episode Burning Low for example. Their work on Adventure Time and Steven Universe will stand the test of time for Cartoon Network and Animation in general.
This and many more is why they got picked as the person to talk about in the Artist Statement final project.
