In this physical painting the idea was to also practice using 3 different colors ( 2 complementary colors and 1 by itself color ) and mixing them into different and unique color combinations that we chose to present a subject as well. The colors chosen in this artwork were red, yellow and purple.
The subject was a layout of different candy, sweets and items that we had the freedom to lay out any way we want using items brought and provided, so this paves the way for each painting to be unique and is the first part of this process.
The layout was centered around the nintendo switch controller with a coke and oreo providing a background, the cupcake and game controller provides a main subject, and starbursts provide a foreground
And the project used to practice color theory of creating new combinations with the colors that were allowed to be used. Also using a subject that is hard compared to other forms of art, this provided great practice of realism and use of different shades of color to create a composition as well
