Here is some submissions to 2 contests that my graphic design class in High School were given. Which are contests for the Freshman Fun Run and a New Football Helmet logo.
For the Freshman Fun Run my graphic design class was tasked by the school to make a T-Shirt for the freshman class to wear. That must include our school mascot the wildcat, the freshman class’s color which is green, the graduating year of the freshman class which is 2022 and the year of the Fun Run takes place which is 2019.
The main part of this design is the use of a clawed out effect and paw prints to represent the wildcat and have their graduating year as a big racing font number 22, that holds the text inside.
Looking at it retrospectively, it is clutter filled design with a good intentions but it was a good start to portray uniquely what I had to include.
The next Contest is that some in our class had to create was a new logo for the football helmet for the high school’s team. We had to include the wildcat mascot, the school’s colors which are orange and black and the schools initials either LG or LGHS.
Like the shirt, for the logo. A design with another clawed out look in the initials in school font with the wildcat above the initials and the initials creating its body was created.
After brainstorming it was decided to go with a simple look because it will be easy to spot far away and fit on a side of a helmet. Retrospectively a clean up of this design and change the colors around in the cat would be ideal, but this design was a proud start.
